Barcelona City

It is often said that a city may be understood through its skyline, its light, its subtle fragrances, or even the atmosphere it inspires. These delicate and ephemeral impressions are often what remain, shaping lasting and meaningful memories.

Few cities express this as vividly as Barcelona.

Set between the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding hills, Barcelona is a city of remarkable contrasts. Centuries of history sit comfortably alongside bold contemporary design, while elegant avenues lead into narrow medieval streets and lively neighbourhoods open onto the sea.

Its unmistakable character has been shaped by art, architecture and a deeply rooted Catalan identity. The extraordinary works of Antoni Gaudí, the atmospheric streets of the Gothic Quarter, bustling markets and Mediterranean cuisine all contribute to a city that feels both cosmopolitan and wonderfully individual.

Whether discovering Barcelona for the first time or returning once again, the city has a remarkable ability to surprise. Its architecture, culture, gastronomy and unmistakable Mediterranean spirit make it a place to explore, enjoy and remember.

As we gather in Barcelona for our 175th EPL Event, during a year in which we also celebrate 45 years of EPL, we invite you to take some time to discover the character, colours and energy of our host city.
